Tuning In To GOD
“Even though you may not understand how God works, you know he does.” ― Max Lucado
RAMBLINGS From Evan’s dad – The boy loves music! If we are in the car, the Jeep, any moving vehicle, Evan is going to want to listen to music. The neat thing about him is he doesn’t want to do so with ear buds. He wants to listen to it with us, sharing the experience, enjoying it together. It can be Big Band, Classical, Rock, Blue Grass, Country, Gospel…pretty much any genre.
The other day we were driving down the road and he was disappointed because the station he picked had terrible reception. It was pretty much loud static. Every now and then you could pick up a note or word, but could make no sense of it. I pulled over in a parking lot, turned off my little XM receiver (that transmits over the FM signal) and Evan’s station came in perfectly. We sat there for a minute and enjoyed the song and the water color sunset we were getting with the clouds and the sun. I love that boy!
I am pretty sure God is the same way. He, the creator of the universe, is always ready to spend time with us. All we have to do is pull over for a minute, tune out the other noise in our life, and tune Him in. If you want to top that experience off with some icing, be in a place where you can enjoy His handy work at creation, while you listen!
That evening with Evan I listened and looked at the beautiful sunset He made for us. I then turned and looked at my youngest, and marveled at how good God is!!….
For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it. (Job 33:14)
